Oven-Roasted Broccoli

December 28, 2015 by Beatriz Valdes

Oven-Roasted Broccoli

Broccoli is one of the best vegetables to eat with dinner. It is an excellent source of vitamin C and vitamin K, and it also helps our body’s detox system. This side dish is a deliciously different way to showcase this superfood. Roasting the broccoli at a high temperature adds a crunchy crispiness and browns the floret; I refer to this dish as “burnt broccoli.”

Burnt Broccoli
Servings: 4

Ingredients
2 heads of broccoli
6 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon sea salt
1 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3 tablespoons Olive Oil

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.
  2. Rinse the broccoli under cool water. Shake and pat dry.
  3. Cut the end off the head of broccoli and discard.
  4. Continue to cut broccoli into bite sized pieces. The stem is just as delicious as the floret!
  5. In a large bowl, toss together the broccoli, olive oil, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  6. Lay all the seasoned broccoli out on a baking pan, evenly spaced.
  7. Sprinkle the freshly minced garlic all over the broccoli, making sure each piece of broccoli has a little bit on it.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes until just browned on the edges.

Buon Appetito!
